Orgalime Workshop: Keying into China

Keeping your manufacturing trade flows up and running

Orgalime will host this workshop on 17 May 2006 with the aim of deciding whether to open a European industry office in China, financed by electrical and electronic engineering companies and associations, that would advocate our interests towards Chinese administrations and business partners with a view to:

- ensuring the use of ISO and IEC international standards and their adoption in the Chinese body of standards;
- influencing conditions for certification in China, in order to reduce costs, for example by way of greater transparency of entire procedures, recognition of test reports and simplification of works inspections;
- identifying Chinese national regulatory, standardisation and certification activity in a timely manner, and in the interests of harmonisation, to promote alternatives based upon international and European solutions; and
- setting up a network for the electrical and electronic industry with local businesses.
