<%@ language="JavaScript" %> ORGALIME: Mission & Objectives
In 2005 Orgalime published a Manifesto, "Engineering the Future", which sets out its aims towards ensuring the continuation and development of the engineering industries in Europe.

Our vision is to actively promote the development of the necessary competitive framework conditions under which our companies can flourish as manufacturers in the EU and to ensure that the trading conditions they face are fair, both in the EU and on export markets.

We aim to provide value to our members by acting as the principal exchange platform between the EU engineering industry and EU institutions and, through being the prime spokesman in Europe of the EU engineering industry on selected issues affecting a broad range of members and sectors of our industry, to develop and promote the views of our network and of engineering companies. We also aim to provide our members with a network where they can exchange information and together develop services which are useful to their member companies.

In pursuing our mission, we intend to:

  • Focus the minds of regulators on the competitiveness of manufacturing industry in the EU as the prime driver of the regulatory agenda.
  • Encourage regulators to pursue the path of sustainable regulation: less, simpler and better regulation, as well as more room for self-regulation, are a must.
  • Collaborate with organisations pursuing the same goals, so as to enhance the effectiveness of our actions.
  • Develop and to strengthen the collaboration within our network so as to provide an ever better service to our clients - the industry which supports us.
  • To promote in a positive manner the image of our industry and to communicate the vision of our industry as widely as possible.

Orgalime has three main objectives:

  • To be the prime voice of the EU engineering industry on selected issues affecting a broad range of its members.
  • To provide to its members information on the activities of the European Union and international bodies of direct relevance to the operations of reengineering companies operating in the EU.
  • To promote relations between member federations/associations.
