Orgalime Attends the Launch of a New Project: ‘Towards a World Forum on Raw Materials’

On 29 November 2016, Orgalime attended the launch of a new project ‘Towards a World Forum on Raw Materials (FORAM)’ launched during the first edition of the Raw Materials Week organised by the European Commission. The project has received funding from the EU Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme.

The objectives of FORAM are to develop an EU-based platform of international experts and stakeholders that will create a basis on which to establish a World Forum on Raw Materials, and to enhance the international cooperation on raw material policies and investments and facilitate trade. The whole project is a network activity at global level. FORAM is coordinated by the World Resources Forum Association and supported by a consortium of 11 organisations.

A major public pilot event is tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2018, which will present upcoming analyses of the topic, important obstacles and opportunities for wider cooperation. All interested parties are invited to express their concerns and requirements, and to help shape the recommendations on how to most efficiently and effectively establish a World Forum on Raw Materials in the near future. More information about the project is available on their website.
