Alliance for a Competitive European Industry calls on EU institutions to give top priority to impact assessments

The Alliance for a Competitive European Industry, representing associations from major European industry sectors and UNICE, has been formed to promote the competitiveness of European industry on a global scale. Its key goal is to contribute to the implementation of the "Lisbon Strategy", which aims to turn Europe into the most competitive knowledge-based economy in the world. The Alliance will also provide input into relevant upcoming EU legislative proposals.

Click below to see the latest press release of the Alliance which calls on EU institutions to support the demand for a clear, transparent Impact Assessment method to be used when adopting industry legislation. A position paper released today sets out the Alliance views on this point in detail and a workshop on the issues is scheduled for early 2005.
