Draft directive on the protection of workers from exposure to optical radiation at work

ORGALIME is expressing its concern over a new proposed legislative dossier on the protection of workers from exposure to optical radiation at work which the institutions are launching without carrying out a prior impact assessment which would allow regulators to judge whether new regulation is needed and if so what it should cover. In 1994 a cursory "Fiche d’impact" was produced for this proposal, but this failed to provide evidence of work accidents or ill health directly linked to exposure to optical radiations.


The issue of this proposal is completely at odds with the Commission’s own better regulation package launched in 2002:
