Let´s get Europe back on track for 2050: Europe can be energy efficient!

Under the auspices of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), Orgalime and its co-organisers, EHI, ESMIG, Europump, Lighting Europe and T&D Europetoday showcased technologies on how to bridge the energy and climate targets (2020 to 2030 and beyond), how you can manage your own energy and at the same time cut costs and enjoy a wide range of different benefits. Adrian Harris, Director General of Orgalime commented “The technologies are ready and waiting to be deployed – what is missing is the buy-in of our clients. Energy efficiency is actually the opportunity! This is what our practical showcases demonstrate today”.

We believe that policymakers can do a lot, too! Firstly, we ask they set a firm energy efficiency commitment inside the 2030 Energy and Climate Framework without delay. Additionally, they should empower consumers in a truly completed and liberalised energy market, especially making the retail energy market more competitive, guaranteeing fair access to data for the development of appropriate services to the benefit of consumers.
