Orgalime press release on the forthcoming adoption of the common position on the Machinery Directive

Four years ago the Commission adopted a proposal for the revision of the Machinery Directive, the core legislation regulating the mechanical engineering sector and its output of some 400 billion euros. This is seen by Orgalime as an unnecessary exercise by the Commission to change the existing directive, which functions perfectly well. In addition, the proposal offers little to manufacturers, but further increases the administrative burden on companies already short of engineering staff.
