RoHS EP vote on the institutions’ compromise leaves industry in legal limbo

Compromise is never easy to achieve and the result is rarely satisfactory. And in the view of Orgalime, notwithstanding the intensive work carried out by the institutions which have brought a number of positive changes to the original draft proposal on the recast of the RoHS Directive, the final text leaves our industry in a legal limbo which does not resolve the very issue of legal uncertainty which the recast was meant to bring – on the contrary.
