Unwanted directive for unwanted goods

Companies and conservationists are critical of an EU law on electrical and electronic waste.

The EU's directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is important, well-intentioned and very badly implemented. Companies are frustrated by the cat-cradle complexity of rules and inconsistent application across member states.
