Each of the major industrial branches has an organisation representing its interests at the European level. Orgalime works closely with a number of these, such as ACEA (cars), CEFIC (chemical industry), CEMBUREAU (cement), CEPI (pulp and paper), EUROPIA (oil extraction & refining), EUROFER (steel), EUROMETAUX (non-ferrous metals), EURELECTRIC (electricity networks) etc.

12 of the major federations (including Orgalime) representing industry have since 2004 united their efforts in certain areas, such as impact assessment, by setting up a coalition "the Alliance for a Competitive European industry".
